Children and Young People's Plan

.......

Annual Review 2007

Review of the Children and Young People’s Plan

The Plan has now been reviewed and Key Improvement Priorities and targets have been identified and set that will lead to genuine improvement in outcomes. The key improvement priorities are:
  • We want to reduce childhood obesity.
  • We want to reduce teenage pregnancy.
  • We want to reduce young people's use of alcohol.
  • We want to improve children and young people's emotional wellbeing/access to CAMHS services.
  • We want to provide integrated services to support families.
  • We want to reduce bullying.
  • We want to reduce the number of first time entrants to the Youth Justice System.
  • We want integrated services for children with complex needs.
  • We want to narrow the gap in attainment.
  • We want to improve places to go and things to do for teenagers.
  • We want to increase respect towards children and young people in schools and the community.
  • We want to reduce the percentage of 16-18 year olds not in employment, education or training.
Through the vehicle of the Local Area Agreement for 2008 -2012, we also want to reduce the number of children and young people living with or suffering the effects of poverty.
