Audit of Needs and Services

.......

Achieve Economic Well-being

The audit of this outcome area examines: The indicators used to assess how well children and young people experience and have the capacity to achieve economic well-being, derive from a range of indicators; those currently relating to specific services e.g. Connexions, proposed indicators in the Joint Assessment and Review consultation, as well as those taken from the DfES. The data presented reflects the county wide indicators for children and young people as identified in the 'Outcomes for Children and Young People in County Durham' document.

Again, as the other sections to this audit have shown, there is a direct link between deprivation and achievement, while achievement can promote a healthier, and wealthier lifestyle. Improving the economic well-being of children and young people requires a multi-agency approach tackling the various aspects of the lives children and young people lead. It is also clear that if any one of the indicators is improved, this is likely to lead to improvement in other related indicators.
